“Nuri do you have a problem?” The teacher asked Nuri.
“No Mr. Lee. It's just that... I learned geometry last year.” She said.
“Oh. You did? Well then you can go ahead if you'd like. Algebra 2 starts on page 150.”
“Okay.” Nuri said and opened her book.
Nuri's POV:
I’m not really gonna go ahead. I’m not a visual learner. I have to have someone teaching it for me to understand. I guess math will be my 'do whatever I want' class.
I love sitting in the back. The teacher doesn't see anything! So I got my iPod out of my book bag and put the earphones up my shirt so the wire doesn't get in the way. Then I turned on my iPod and started listening to 2PM’s I’ll Be Back. I was jammin' out in my head when suddenly a piece of crumpled paper hit my head and fell to the ground beside my head. I picked it up and looked at it. It said:
End of POV..
‘Yah, turn that down. I can't concentrate.’
Nuri looked over at Siwan and he glared at her.
Nuri grabbed her pen and wrote:
‘Do I look like I give a crap?’
Nuri threw it back and it hit Siwan square in the head. Nuri giggled.
Siwan opened it, read it, and glared at Nuri again. Nuri smirked and turned back to the front.
Before Nuri knew it, it was time for lunch. The bell rang and everyone was out like the speed of light.
“God, geometry is so hard.” Younin complained.
Nuri laughed. “I'll help you with it too. Trust me, Mr. Lee's teaching techniques are harder and more complicated. I'll teach you the shortcuts.” Nuri said.
“Oh! Thanks Nuri!” Younin yelled and hugged Nuri.
“Come on, let's go get some lunch.” Nuri said.
They walked into the cafeteria and all the students were chatting amongst themselves. As they waited in line, Nuri saw a crowd of boys around a table.
“What's going on there?” Nuri asked Younin.
“Oh, they're around the queenka's. There are 9 queenka's just like the kingka's. But the queenka's aren't like the kingka's. The queenka's are actually really nice and sweet and pretty too. The one there with the black hair is dating Heechul from ZE:A but not for long. Heechul is known for being a playboy.” Younin exclaimed.
“Awh...then why does she go out with him?”
“Cause he's a kingka, uh!” Younin said.
Nuri nodded in understanding. Once they got their lunch they walked back to courtyard. Only to find ZE:A there...again. They walked in and the table turned to glare at them.
“What?” Nuri said.
They just turned back to what they were doing before.
Nuri and Younin walked to a table as far as ZE:A as possible.
After they ate Nuri started helping Younin with her English and geometry. She improved a lot. I guess Mr. Lee's teaching techniques are a little different then how Younin's old teacher taught.
The bell rang to go back to class.
As they were walking back to class, Younin asked Nuri, “So what's your elective class?”
“I signed up for photography but that class is full. I asked what other electives they have available and the only one was music. So I have that one.” Nuri explained.
Younin's mouth dropped open.
“What?” Younin asked Nuri.
“I said I have music as my elective.” Nuri repeated.
“Nuri, that class has all of the kingka's in it. They don't want other students in the only class they actually like so no one signed up for it. You will be the only other student in the class.”
Nuri sighed. Great, just what she needed...
They got back to class and waited for the lesson to start. History, Nuri hate history. She was so bad at it.
This class was the longest one and a half hours of Nuri life. She could not understand anything that was going on. Nuri sighed and gave up.
Then the bell rang. Finally...
“Younin, can you walk me to music? I don't know where the class is.” Nuri said.
“Sure! It's on the second floor, I'll show you!” Younin said linking arms with Nuri.
They walked past the teachers desk and Nuri saw Siwan talking to Mr. Lee with his head hung low. What's going on with Siwan? Nuri just shrugged it off, it's not like she care for him anyways.
“Do you understand anything in history?” Nuri asked Younin.
“Nope...” she said. “I'm not exactly the smartest person.”
“No, you're very smart!” Nuri said.
Younin laughed. “Thanks! Well here we are!”
“Thanks! You want to come to my house to study after school?” Nuri asked Younin.
“Sure! I'll meet you here after school. Bye! Good luck.” Younin said waving to Nuri.
Nuri waved back, took a deep breathe and walked inside.
Wow, Younin wasn't kidding. This class does only consist of the kingka's.
Nuri walked to a chair and sat down.
“You shouldn't sit there.” a voice said.
Nuri looked up and saw Minwoo staring at her.
“Why?” Nuri asked.
“That's Kwanghee hyung's chair.” Minwoo said.
“So?”
“Suit yourself...”
Nuri was looking over her history notes when someone tapped her on the shoulder. Nuri looked up and it was Kwanghee.
“What?” Nuri asked.
“You're in my chair.” Kwanghee said simply.
“It doesn't have your name on it.”
“Actually...it does.” he said pointing to the back of the chair. It said, 'Property of Kwanghee' in pencil.
Nuri took out her eraser and erased it. “Now it doesn't.” Nuri said and started to go over her notes again.
Kwanghee just stood there and gawked at Nuri.
“Take a picture, it lasts longer.” Nuri said not looking up at Kwanghee.
“UGH! Siwannie~” He whined storming to the other side of the room where Siwan was talking to Kevin.
“You really have the nerve don't you?” Dongjoon asked Nuri.
“No, I don't. I just stand up for myself.” Nuri said.
“Feisty noona...I like that.” he said giving Nuri a wink.
Nuri lifted an eyebrow at him. “Not gonna happen freshie...”
He pouted and turned back around.
Nuri started to study again.
“Joseon Dynasty? That sounds like an antique shop my mom used to take me to! Ugh, I hate history.” Nuri said to herself.
“The Joseon Dynasty was a korean sovereign state that lasted for five centuries.” A voice next to Nuri said.
It was The Terrible in Fashion. When did he get here?
“You...you know about history?” Nuri asked.
“My best subject.” He said smiling arrogantly.
“And you call me a nerd?” Nuri asked.
“I'm not the one that speaks better English than the teacher!”
“I'm from America! Of course I know English!”
“Oh...well...um...”
“What?” Nuri asked annoyingly.
Siwan cleared his throat. “Can you tutor me in English? The teacher said I'm failing and if I fail English I have to get held back!”
“That might be good for you considering how immature you are.” Nuri said.
“I'm serious! If you tutor me in English, I'll tutor you in history!”
That...actually wasn't a bad idea.
“Okay fine. But I only tutor you on the weekends, since I tutor Younin during school and after school.”
“Weekends?! No no no no. I have a life!”
“Well then too bad.” Nuri said.
Siwan sighed. “Okay fine. Are you going to tutor Younin everyday after school?”
“Probably not, I just don't want to see your face everyday after school.” She said.
“Hey! People love my face!” He said fixing his hair.
“Yeah yeah...only if that person is blind, in the dark and behind a wall.”
He stared at her in disbelief.
Nuri rolled her eyes. “Well I'll give you the address to my condo so you can--”
“Whoa whoa whoa, there's no way I'm going to your place!”
Nuri folded her arms. “And why not?!”
“If the fan girls see me going to your place they are going to kill you and you're family!”
“I live alone...” Nuri said.
“That's even worse. I have guards around my place so no fan girls are there. It's more safer at my place.” He said.
That actually made sense...
“Okay fine just give me your address and I'll--”
Siwan cut Nuri off. “Nonsense, I'll have a car pick you up! So I know the fan girls won't follow you.”
She looked at him suspiciously. “Uh...okay?”
“When is class going to start?” Nuri asked herself looking at her phone.
“Okay, here's the sheet music for the new song.” Junyoung said passing out the sheet paper.
“What are you, a teacher?” Nuri asked Junyoung.
“Yeah. This is MY class. And what the hell are you doing here?” He asked rudely.
“It's the only elective with space. It's not like I want to be here, don't be so full yourself.” Nuri said.
He rolled his eyes and continues passing out the music sheet. She read the sheet out loud, “Mazeltov? What kind of song is called Mazeltov? Ugh.” Nuri groaned in her seat.
Nuri correct herself for her previous mistake, THIS class will be the longest one and a half hours of her life.
to be continued...
